LIfelineNB-2 EDM

Telephone Crisis Supporter

Provide crisis support over the phone to people who need immediate or short-term assistance.

  • Training: 3 stages over 14 months onsite at our Balgowlah office

  • Commitment: 4 hours per fortnight after training

  • Training includes: Nationally recognised Telephone Crisis Supporter Workplace Training

ACVVS-Beryl&Patrick

Aged Care Visitor Volunteer

Help reduce loneliness and isolation by visiting older people living in residential aged care facilities from Kirribilli to Mosman and across the Northern Beaches.

  • Training: 30-minute online module

  • Commitment: One hour per fortnight

  • Role: Provide companionship, conversation and genuine connection

Book Depot Volunteer

Be part of a friendly, behind-the-scenes team at our Brookvale Book Depot. Help sort and prepare donated books while forming connections with like-minded locals.

  • Sort and clean books

Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli has been dedicated to delivering vital wellbeing and suicide prevention services in our community since 1968. In that time, we’ve answered over 1 million crisis calls and provided thousands of counselling sessions.

None of this would have been possible without the generosity and support from our local community.

What volunteering roles are available?

You can choose from a variety of roles including Telephone Crisis Supporter, Aged Care Visitor Volunteer, Event Volunteer, Retail Volunteer, Book Depot Volunteer and Book Fair Volunteer — each with different training and time commitments to suit your interests and availability.

How much time do I need to commit?

Time commitments vary by role. Some roles (like Book Fair or event volunteering) are flexible and occasional, while others (like Aged Care Visitor Volunteer) require a regular schedule — such as one hour each fortnight.

Who can volunteer?
